Johns Hopkins Hospital has filed over 2,400 lawsuits, since 2009, against their own patients, including their own employees. Many of these lawsuits resulted in wage garnishments and harassments from collections attorneys. The amount patients have been sued for is less than 0.05% of JHH's annual operation revenue. Many of these patients would likely have qualified for free or reduced-cost care but were not informed of that option by JHH.How can weensure that it is accountable to the Baltimore community?Join us on March 4th at 6pm as we hear from patients, JHU students and faculty, and JHH nurses about Hopkins's debt collection practices against low-income patients and what we can do to fight back!
