Educational & Group Discounts
Consider bringing your class or theater group to see Marx In Soho! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the history of Karl Marx and his revolutionary ideas, and to develop a new perspective on the way that we learn and come to understand history. Jerry Levy, a professor of sociology at Marlboro College, will be available to take questions from the audience about the play, about Karl Marx, and about the staging and performance of a one-man show. Aspiring actors & theater groups are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity!

We can offer banks of tickets at a reduced rate of $5/person (a 50% discount!) for schools, theater groups, or other communities. Email us at 2640@redemmas.org to make a reservation.

The Play
The premise of this witty and insightful “play on history” is that Karl Marx has agitated with the authorities of the afterlife for a chance to clear his name. Through a bureaucratic error, though, Marx is sent to Soho in New York, rather than his old stomping ground in London, to make his case.

Zinn introduces us to Marx’s wife, Jenny, his children, the anarchist Mikhail Bakunin, and a host of other characters.

Marx in Soho is a brilliant introduction to Marx’s life, his analysis of society, and his passion for radical change. Zinn also shows how relevant Marx’s ideas are for today's world.
