The Baltimore Labor History Book Club will sponsor its first meeting at Red Emma's on Wednesday, November 11, at 7 p.m. This informal group--open to everyone-- will gather regularly to discuss various books about labor history, with an emphasis on Baltimore. The first book is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Valley of Fear, in which Sherlock Holmes investigates a brutal murder related to the Molly Maguires. A unique novel, anti-immigrant and anti-union, and provocative. This book is available on-line in many editions.
The participants will select future books.
