Drew Daniel of Matmos presents Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz Funk Greats

Thursday Apr 17, 7:30PM @ Red Emma's

Drew Daniel of Matmos presemts his take on industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle 's most "accessible" album, 20 Jazz Funk Greats, just published in book form in Continuum 's increasingly essential 33 1/3 series .  The talk starts at 7:30 at Red Emma's, but Drew will be DJ'ing a Throbbing Gristly happy hour starting at 6PM around the corner at Liam's Pint Size Pub at 911 N. Charles St. to help lubricate the proceedings.   And in case you need another reason to come, we'll be running a 10% sale on all 33 1/3 titles that evening....

Don't miss this!

Red Emma's is open Monday through Friday from 10AM-10PM, Saturday from 10AM-8PM, and Sunday from 10AM-6PM. Our weekly collective meetings are Sunday at 7PM, and are open to anyone interested in the project, except for the first Sunday of every month, which is closed to everyone except collective members.
Red Emma's is part of IU 660 of the Industrial Workers of the World, one of the only unions to recognize that worker collectives can stand in solidarity with those fighting the bosses as part of one big union.
