The Nothing Factory, an epic puppet opera (w/Ed Schrader & Tacky Masks)
Saturday Dec 15, 7PM @ 2640 (2640 St. Paul St.)
Shadow puppeteer Erik Ruin mixes hand-cut slide projection, paper mache masks, and giant-sized moving scenery to illustrate THE NOTHING FACTORY, an illuminated musical allegory, set in a fictional world where everybody wants everything. With story and songs by avant-punk musician Reid Books, narrative performance by Anissa Weinraub, and a dystopic live soundtrack by members of Red Devil and International Anthems for Irrational Numbers, THE NOTHING FACTORY boasts the dramatic consultation of Missoula Oblongata director Sarah Lowry. PLUS, don't miss the two amazing opening acts: at 7PM, the comedic stylings of Wham City's own ED SCHRADER, and an improv set from a brand-new Baltimore-based collaboration, TACKY MASKS (long-time Baltimore improvisers and High Zero veterans Stewart Mostofsky (electronics), Bonnie Jones(electronics), Bob Wagner (percussion) & John Eaton (saxophone)). This is a one-of-a-kind event, don't you dare miss it! Concessions provided by Red Emma's & prints & posters for sale by Erik Ruin and the Justseeds collective!
