Mother Earth Poetry Vibe!

Wednesday Dec 19, 7PM @ Red Emma's

Come feel the vibe! Join us for a poetry/spoken word open mic of justice, spirituality, fam, real life! In the tradition of Emma Goldman’s Mother Earth magazine, come drop some progressive fiyah on us, or contribute just with your presence and energy! By the way: this ain’t the erotica session or the sexy love night—except for the realization that justice is sexy and, as Che Guevara said, “the true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love.” Bring that knowledge, that questioning, that that self-awareness, that tapping into spirit, that wrestling with matters, that consciousness (whatever that may mean to you), that advancing the village—that love of all people! (And leave the misogyny, homophobia and other needless ish outside!)

Our feature for the evening is poet and civil rights lawyer Shahid Buttar, Executive Director of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee (http://bordc.org/).

Holdin’ it down for the evening is Analysis--poet & spoken word artist, organizer, minister, activist, educator, consultant! You already know… ;)

If you love justice, and you love the arts, come on our for this FREE event! Open Mic list starts at 6:30PM.
