Unchained Talent Presents: Concrete Jungle! A Student Original Hip-Hop Musical

Saturday Apr 26, 7PM @ 2640 (2640 St. Paul St.)

Concrete Jungle is a hip-hop musical influenced by the pain, struggles and tragedies of inner city teens.  The script and lyrics of Concrete Jungle are all original and have been written collaboratively and exclusively by Unchained Talent teenage artists.

In today’s society, many inner city youth are forced to become head of their household because of broken families.  The families are broken from parents addicted to drugs and the absence of fathers and mothers.  Children who live in poverty and have to raise their younger siblings or their own children are quickly falling into the trap of drug dealing.  Drug dealing is a quick way to earn money to provide and feed their family, so many young African American males result to drug dealing to provide for themselves and their family.  Concrete Jungle centers around three teenage cousins who are struggling to survive, to become the father they never had in their life, find a way out and to find hope.  With this show, Unchained Talent and its student writers hope to influence teens to believe in a better way of living, to stay away from drugs and to never give up hope.
